Welcome!

Hi! I’m Krirk Nirunwiroj (เกริก นิรันดร์วิโรจน์ in Thai). I’m currently pursuing an MSE in Computer Science (Human Language Technology Concentration) at Johns Hopkins University. I am extremely fortunate to work with Professor Daniel Khashabi and Professor Swaroop Vedula on surgical video understanding research and to have Professor Anjalie Field academically guiding my journey at JHU.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where I majored in Computer Science and Data Science and earned a certificate in Mathematics. I had the privilege of working on LLM–human alignment research with my incredible mentor, Dr. Yun-Shiuan (Sean) Chuang, and was advised by Professor Junjie Hu. I was also a research intern at the Epistemic Analytics Lab, where I learned from my amazing supervisor, Yuanru Tan, under the guidance of Professor David Williamson Shaffer.

I’m originally from a small, beautiful island, “Phuket”, Thailand. Thanks to a full scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand, I had the incredible opportunity to pursue my studies in the United States.

My research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence and its applications in various domains, including medicine, computational social science, and education. Recently, I am focused on applying AI to healthcare, with the goal of leveraging multimodal and (multi-)agentic systems to support human practitioners in high-stakes scenarios such as surgery and clinical decision-making.

I’m always happy to connect, share ideas, and collaborate. Please feel free to reach out. Thank you for stopping by!
